6/30 Minor League Report

We are lucky enough to have a SWB report from BigGuy tonight. He won't be doing these all the time by when he does I will post them. Thanks BG for the great contributions.

(AAA) Scranton (49-37) beat Buffalo 5-4: Box Score - Recap

PITCHING: Dan McCutchen got the start and pitched one of his best games at AAA. He went 6 innings allowing only 1 run in the 3rd inning on 4 singles. That gave Buffalo a 1-0 lead at the time. McCutchen left the game with the score tied at 1. McCutchen's line: 6.0 IP, 1 run, 6 hits, 5 K's--1 walk. His ERA is now at 3.96. 104 pitches--68 strikes.

Kei Igawa came on to pitch the 7th inning with the scored tied at 1. He gave up 3 runs on 2 walks, a sac bunt, 4 singles and RBI groundout. That gave Buffalo a 4-1 lead they held until the 9th inning. Igawa pitched perfect 8th and 9th innings and got the win (8-4).

OFFENSE: The Yanks tied the game at 1 in the 3rd inning when Jason Lane hit a solo homer (14). ...Trailing 4-1 in the bottom of the 9th, Cody Ransom walked, Eric Duncan singled and J D Closser hit a 3-run homer (1) to tie the game at 4. ...The winning run scored when Nick Green walked, Greg Porter singled, and Chris Basak got the game winning rbi on a sac fly.

NOTES: The win was the first time this season the Yanks have come from behind when trailing after the 8th inning (1-34). ... Ross Ohlendorf gets his first start Tuesday. ... Chris Stewart was dfa'd to make room on the NY 40 man roster for Brett Gardner. ... Catcher Jason Brown was activated off the DL to replace Stewart on the SWB roster. ... Justin Christian will return to SWB.
