New Stadium Virtual Tour

Check out this piece of New Yankee Stadium propaganda from Yankees.com. It's a virtual tour of the new stadium, and it has commentary from Billy Crystal, Bob Costas and Yogi Berra and others. It's narrated by John Sterling.

Let me know what you think.

... And while we're talking about Yankee Stadium, check out this list of Yankee Stadium firsts from Dugout Central.

But Dan, doesn't it bother you that only people who spend 55 or more on a ticket will be able to enjoy all that great stuff to look forward too?

we can still go to some of the resturants right? and it looks like theres something for every section. and the food courts in the bleachers look like a cool place, kind of what they have in other ball parks where you can stand and watch the game. all i want really is more leg room and more comfortable seats. along with the new ammenities, and more bathrooms. i hate standing in piss, just so I can piss. im just excited for something new. i think its a shame that they're tearing down the old stadium, but its time for an upgrade unfortunatley. too bad we cant have both stadiums, you know. plus you can always go to the old site and play baseball where the greats have played. i've been to philly, petco, camden. they all blew my socks off. and there i sat in cheap seats.

Yes, some restaurants, but not the good ones. Unless you have the dough. I've heard that certain areas of the stadium are blocked off to certain fans. For example you can only get to the Luxury Suite restaurants and amenities if you have Luxury Suite tickets.

And yes, the food court in the bleachers does look pretty cool, and that's where I'm gonna be.

Let me be clear about one thing; even if it is a stadium for the rich, it's going to be a great stadium. But like I said before, I wonder how much the average fan will be hurt. And to be honest I also don't think we really need a new stadium. I love the current stadium. I love going to Yankee Stadium, and I don't mind whatever shortcomings it may have - 4,000,000+ people a year seem to agree.

The new stadium is a caste system stadium. Rich people will stay with the rich, while middle class with stay with the middle, and the lower with remain with the lower.

Interesting term, "Caste system stadium" .... I may have to use that at some point.
