After getting roughed up in his first start, Andrew Backman rebounded in his second professional start in Hawaii Winter Ball and pitched very well. In five innings Brackman allowed no runs on three hits, while walking one and striking out five. He threw 42 of his 63 pitches for strikes, and was able to pick up his first win of the winter. The Waikiki BeachBoys defeated the North Shore Honu 3-1. Here's the box score and recap.
Another Yankee, Damon Sublett played in the game and went 1-for-3. In three games this winter, Sublett is hitting .444 (4-for-9) with two doubles, five RBI, and a run scored.

Yes, he had a season-ending elbow injury in his junior year at Nebraska. And had Tommy John surgery immediately after signing with the Yankees.
Brackman came from NC State, not Nebraska. You are correct about the injury. What is the latest on Hawaii ball?
You're right, I have no idea why I wrote Nebraska. I must have been thinking of Joba.
He pitched the other day, he went six innings, allowed a 2 runs (1 earned) on 4 hits, walked one and struck out seven.
