Huge update here, 44 pictures total. They were sent to me by one of this blog's readers, Jay from Throggs Neck who recently took a tour of the new stadium. The descriptions below some of the pics come from Jay, who got them from the head of construction for the Turner Construction Company, the company building the stadium.

Thanks for the great photos Jay.

Wow, the Stadium looks INCREDIBLE at night... and it's not even finished, the padding isn't completely done, the field is covered in snow, and the seats are empty. Just imagine it finished with a full crowd and the green grass. Awesome.

Also - maybe it's just my computer, but I cleared my temp files and everything and Internet Explorer isn't displaying your blog correctly. It's somehow merging this Yankee Stadium update post with the Pettitte post, and a few other posts after it are missing. I don't know exactly what's going on, but I think something in the code is essentially "commenting" out everything from the "...Full post" link on the stadium update post all the way down through the Pettitte post.

Not sure if there's anything you can do about that or not, and I rarely use IE, but I thought I'd let you know as I'm sure a lot of people do use it.

While it will be nice to have more room between the rows of seats I will miss being on top of the next row and slapping fives with strangers when Mo closes games, Jeter makes a diving catch, Arod blasts a home run, Joba strikes out any and everyone he faces, CC lets out a inning ending roar...etc

Pinstripes I'm not sure why that's happening. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Greg,

Same thing on my end. Its merging posts.

Greg Cohen said...

Are you using Internet Explorer?

Greg Cohen said...

I see it now on IE as well. I have no idea why that's happening.

God I hate Internet Explorer.

Any ideas?

Greg Cohen said...

Is it fixed now?

Liam, what browser are you using?

Anonymous said...

What do you mean by browser?

Anonymous said...

Do you mean when I post a comment?

Greg Cohen said...

Like internet explorer, safari, or firefox. The software you use to browse the web.

It doesn't matter. I was trying to truncate the post so you guys didn't have to scroll for an hour, but it just wasn't working.

Internet explorer. As long as I see updates i'm ok for scrollong for an hour.

The new stadium looks good...its nice to know that the NHL is thinking of playing a game there on 1/1/10...at least there will be "one" meaningful game played there during its "rookie" season.

Wow.. it's going to be perfect!

How do you know which locker belongs to who? I didn't see any signs.

Greg Cohen said...

The guy who sent me the pictures was told by the head of construction for Turner Construction Company.

In designing this new stadium, I wonder if anyone took into consideration the utter mauling the people in those seats directly in front of the right field bleachers are going to receive. It's a case of both sheer effrontery to (re)move the creatures backwards and off the field and astute myopia to have not contemplated the security implications of putting box(?) seats in front of and within a nickles' toss of creature seats. I'm not implying creatures are violent, but this is ripe ground for conflict.

I always thought the "Box Seats Suck" contingent was friendly rivalry as opposed to potential violence. Are you really telling me that actual conflicts will arise among fellow Yankee fans just because the "cheap seats" are next to the "not cheap seats?" Come on... Yankee fans can be dumb, and I'm sure the friendly ribbing will be at an all time high with the neighboring seats, but we're not that dumb that we'll literally fight each other on a mass scale, are we?

It looks great!

Does it seem to anyone else that there aren't enough aisles in the some of the grandstand and bleacher sections? The decks in right field look about 30 seats wide. That's alot of "'scuse me".
