The Monuments Get a New Home

The monuments have been moved into their new home at the new Yankee Stadium. They had been stuck in a storage room at the old stadium until they were moved yesterday.

Here's more from Wayne Coffee of the Daily News:

The place had its historical christening Tuesday, when a biting wind whipped through the outfield and a cluster of 10 workmen spent 6-1/2 hours moving the monuments honoring Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Miller Huggins, Joe DiMaggio, Mantle and the memory of Sept.11...

Great attention was paid to all detail, including the order of arrival.

"The Babe was first. The Babe had to be first," said Anthony Vespa, a VP of Port Morris Tile and Marble.

Why in the first picture they look like they're facing each other. Are they going to be fixed?
