I talked to someone much older then me and born in NYC, yes this is for all intensive purposes OLD YANKEE STADIUM, but isn't it the shell of the REAL old yankee stadium, considering it was basically gutted & remodeled...Yes its sad, but I'm sure the true saddest moment was back in 1973...

Mario,

I think it all depends who you ask. Like for me, that was the only Yankee Stadium I ever knew. So for me it's sad, very sad. For someone like my father, who grew up in the original stadium, it's not nearly as sad.

fucking shit

Although I'm not ancient (I'm only 104), I remember the pre-1973 Yankee Stadium well. Believe me, what happened between 1973-1976 was much sadder for me than what's happening now. The Stadium going down now is indeed merely a shell of what it was once was. Of course it's still sad....

i have a question. are parts of the bleachers the original yankee stadium bleachers? like the wall with the armitron sign, is that part of the pre-renovated stadium?

Each day will be even sadder.

This sucks.

Liam Gallagher said...

Sure does.

Uhh....This Chineese stuff will get even worse.

As I recall, yes, that wall in front of the bleachers is part of the original wall. Of course none of the bleacher seats from 1976 on were the original ones.

I notice where they seem to be dismantling the old park very carefully, especially when you consider the way they literally tore Shea Stadium down. I guess they want to preserve as much stuff as possible for sale....
