Gardner Update

It was just announced on the postgame that Brett Gardner has his cast removed today. He will be in a splint for a week and expects to be activated in two weeks.

Good news, Gardner was having a good season. I hope the injury doesn't mess up his swing. Paul O'Neil had the same injury and said it was horrible because you lose all the strength in your hand and it hurts your swing. He said it took about 6 weeks to gain the strength back in his hand.

Also tonight they missed Gardy. You could of had him pinch run instead of Pena. He is important weapon especially on this team where half the lineup is station to station and cant score from 1st without a homerun.

yay for gardner..the above is correct, but also this gives melky some rest, which could help him step away a bit when he's struggling (like the past 4 or so games)

That type of threat on the basepath can be a difference maker in the playoffs.

He would make an excellent PR for Matsui and Posada in the late innings in October.
