Guess what? Now Jeter's Hurt

After Derek Jeter was hit on the left pinky today by Justin Verlander and his 95 mph fastball (as shown here), and according to Bryan Hoch, is listed as day-to-day. Another day, another injury for the Yankees.

After the game Jeter had this to say about his hand and his recent slump:

"He said he's fine," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said. "My guess is it's going to be a little sore, but he said he's fine."

...

"All you can try to do really is just have good at-bats and hit the ball hard," Jeter said. "You'd love to get hits all the time. Today, I got a hit and I hit 10 balls [on the trip] harder than I've hit that one. Today, fortunately, I hit it in the right spot. I need to get on base a little bit more."

Jeter always says he's fine so I'm not sure what to take from it. Also, with him slumping so bad the Yankees other injuries are starting to become an issue for this lineup.
