Pettitte Will Miss At Least One Start, DL Trip Possible

From Bob Nightengale:
The New York Yankees are relieved that left-handed starter Andy Pettitte has no structural damage in his elbow, but he will miss at least one start with inflammation, and could wind up on the disabled list.

The Yankees say he will be treated conservatively and evaluated on a daily basis.

"The ligaments are good, the doctor said the MRI is good news," Yankees general manager Brian Cashman says, "but at the very least, (missing a start is) probably likely."
Mark Feinsand has a similar story, but according to him nothing is official:

The Yankees braintrust will gather tomorrow to mull over Andy Pettitte’s situation and whether he will make his next start, which is scheduled for Tuesday in Detroit, according to GM Brian Cashman. Cashman said Pettitte called the team doctor today to tell him he is “feeling good.”

“I’m inclined to skip him a start, but that’s not officially what we’re going to do yet,” Cashman said. “We’re going to discuss it first.”

Will Carroll wrote earlier today that based on the injury, a DL trip was likely.

I think it's a safe bet that he will miss that next start, and I'd assume that Sergio Mitre will start in place of Pettitte while he recovers.
