- Alfredo Aceves threw off flat ground today and said that “Nothing hurt,” and “Everything was normal.” He may throw again tomorrow.

- Joe Girardi said that this morning that Alex Rodriguez may be ready to return for the series opener against the Phillies on Tuesday.

- Marcus Thames has been placed on the 15-day DL, and will be shutdown for 10-12 days. He's been replaced by Chad Huffman on the roster.

- Today will be Phil Hughes's first career start against the Astros. Here are some of Phil's 2010 stats: FIP: 2.76, xFIP: 3.66, BABIP: .288, K/9: 8.78, BB/9: 2.58, HR/9: 0.52, GB rate: 35.4%, WAR: 2.2.

- Although he hasn't faced the Yankees since 2006, Brian Moehler has made 11 career start against them and is 3-6, with a 5.09 ERA. In 7 career starts in the Bronx, he's 1-5, with a 5.95 ERA.
