Strasburg Needs Tommy John Surgery

Obviously, this is not Yankees news, but it's still important if you're a baseball fan.

Stephen Strasburg has a tear in his pitching elbow and will need Tommy John surgery. He's going to go for a second opinion, but it's seems very likely he will need the surgery and will miss 12-18 months.

In 12 starts this season for Washington, the right-hander was 5-3, with a 2.91 ERA. In 68 innings he allowed 22 ER on 56 hits, walked 17 and struck out 92.

Just an absolutely terrible blow for the Nats and their fans.
