Had I felt the Yankees actually had a chance yesterday in Texas I might be upset about this loss, but with Dustin Moseley going up against Cliff Lee I know that wasn't going to happen.

I'm actually pleasantly surprised with how Moseley pitched, especially over the first six as he matched Lee. Both starters held the opposing offenses to just one run over the first six. Lee actually had a no-hitter through five, but Eduardo Nunez broke that up with a single and then Derek Jeter got the Yankees on the board with a two-out RBI double to right. A leadoff walk to Elvis Andrus led to Texas' run in the bottom of the inning. He would steal second, move to third on a sac fly, and then scored on a grounder to first, just beating Mark Teixeira's throw to the plate.

Things changed drastically for Moseley in the 7th as he appeared to run out of gas. After another leadoff walk, this one to Ian Kinsler, he did get two straight outs, but then it all fell apart. Julio Borbon reached on a bunt single, scoring Kinsler who had moved to third on the fly outs. Borbon then stole second and scored on Andrus' single to knock Moseley out of the game. Andrus advanced to 2nd on the throw to the plate and would then score on Michael Young's single of Jonathan Albaladejo. The Rangers led 4-1 and this one was over.

The Yankees went down 1-2-3 in the 8th and then pretty quietly in the 9th as the Rangers wrapped up their sweep. Honestly, the offense was pretty quiet all game, the two hits the Yankees picked up in the 6th were the only two hits they'd get all day.

Luckily, Tampa also lost, so the Yanks will still be in first when they begin a big three-game series with Tampa later today. It's a battle of Cy Young candidates in the opener, as CC Sabathia faces David Price. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. and the game will be on YES.

PLAYER OF THE GAME: Cliff Lee (W, 8 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 5 K)
HONORABLE MENTION: Elvis Andrus (1-for-3, RBI, BB, 2 R, SB)
GOAT OF THE GAME: Dustin Moseley
