It wasn't CC Sabathia's best game of the year, but it was more than enough for him to become the league's first 20-game winner. In 7 innings, the lefty allowed three runs on seven hits, walked one and struck out four. Just another solid outing in a season of solid outings for the Yankees Ace.

After CC left the game, Joba Chamberlain and Chad Gaudin took care of the final two innings as the Yankees built their lead.

The offense hasn't really been clicking lately, but they showed up last night, pounding out 11 runs on 13 hits. Most of the damage was done against O's starter, Jeremy Guthrie, who allowed six runs on seven hits over five. He also managed to hit Derek Jeter with a pitch, again, which didn't leave Joe Girardi too pleased.

Jorge Posada started the scoring for the Yanks, driving in two in the 1st with a single. They added another in 2nd on a sac fly by Jeter, one of two RBIs on the night for Jeet. His second RBI came in the 4th on an groundout.

Robinson Cano hit his 28th homer of the season and drove in runs 100 and 101 with his two-run shot in the 5th. His two hits raised his average back to .324.

Nick Swisher returned to the lineup and picked up two hits, including an RBI double in the 6th to drive in the Yanks 7th run.

A few innings later Curtis Granderson blew the game open with a 3-run homer, his 19th of the year.

Brett Gardner and Alex Rodriguez may not have driven in a run, but they each had big nights at the plate. Gardner doubled, tripled, scored two, and stole his 42nd base of the season. A-Rod went 2-for-4 with a walk and scored a run.

Tampa and Minnesota both won, so nothing changed their, but Boston lost so they're one game closer to elimination.

Andy Pettitte returns to the mound this afternoon as the Yankees go for the sweep. Chris Tillman will make the start for the O's. First pitch is sent for 1:35 p.m. and the game will be on YES and TBS.

PLAYER OF THE GAME: CC Sabathia
HONORABLE MENTION: Brett Gardner
