Yanks Met With Jeter Last Weekend

From Mark Feinsand and Bill Madden:
Jeter and his agent, Casey Close, met with Hal Steinbrenner, team president Randy Levine and general manager Brian Cashman over the weekend, though no formal offers were presented.

Close confirmed the meeting in an email, but declined to discuss the specifics of the talks.

A source with knowledge of the meeting said the two sides "exchanged information," discussing several aspects of Jeter's next contract.

"It was a very good meeting," the source said. "Everybody heard what everybody had to say. There's always information exchanged and questions that each side needs asked and answered. It gets the process moving along."
I just hope whatever ridiculous deal they give him--and you know it's going to be ridiculous--doesn't stop them from signing important pieces in the future.
