Yanks Add a 7th Year For Lee

From Pete Caldera:
The Yankees upped their offer on Cliff Lee, going to a seventh year early this morning.

According to an industry source, the Yanks improved their bid on the ace left-hander shortly after the news of Carl Crawford’s agreement with the Boston Red Sox.
Jon Heyman is reporting the same thing, and says that the 7-year deals that Jayson Werth and Carl Crawford received basically forced the Yankees hand here.
