Hughes' Presumed Dead Fastball - Now Alive and Well

Piggybacking off of Greg's earlier post, Sweeney Murti of WFAN tweeted:
Phil Hughes threw 49 pitches in rehab start today in Tampa, FB 91-93mph consistently. Good first outing. Will pitch at Staten Island Sunday.
This start was conducted under ideal conditions and the like, so there's only so much we can actually take away from it - though, nothing could really dampen a five to seven MPH jump in Hughes' fastball velocity. Based on the timetable that's been laid out, I would expect Hughes to be ready to rejoin the Yankees around the Fourth of July. With Martin and Jeter angling to join Chamberlain, Marte, Chavez, Feliciano, and Soriano on the DL ... I'll take it.
