Jeter Gets One Closer To 3000, Then Leaves Game With Calf Injury

The Yankees lost to the Indians 1-0 in a pitcher's duel tonight in the Bronx. A.J. Burnett was good for the Yanks, allowing just one run on a 4th inning Asdrubal Cabrera RBI single, but Carlos Carrasco and the Tribe pen was a run better as they blanked the Yanks. (Box Score)

On most nights, that would be the story, but that all changed in the top of the 6th when Derek Jeter left the game with a with calf strain that he suffered while running out a fly ball in the 5th.

After the game, Jeter went for an MRI which showed a Grade 1 strain, the lowest level strain. It still isn't known whether he will go on the DL or not. So for now, Jeter's chase for 3000 is put on hold.
