Mo Has Soreness Above Right Elbow, Says it's 'No Big Deal'

From George A. King III:
Three hours before tonight's game Mariano Rivera wasn’t sure he would be available to manager Joe Girardi due to soreness above his right elbow on the outside of the arm.

“I don’t know,” Rivera told The Post when asked if he could face the Indians at Progressive Field.

...

Rivera, who blew a save in Sunday’s 3-2 loss to the Mets at Citi Field, pointed to the sore spot. He had just come from having treatment on the area.

“It’s right here, sore,” Rivera said as he touched his left index finger near his right elbow. The closer said he did not undergo an X-ray or an MRI, and no tests were scheduled.

...

“When I pitch, I don’t feel anything,” said Rivera when asked if the problem affected him on Sunday.

“It’s no big deal,” said the 41-year-old Rivera, who was second in the American League with 21 saves. “If you don’t feel soreness while you are pitching you must be a magician.”

Since Rivera received treatment, Girardi probably wanted to avoid using his closer in last night’s game. And the situation could cloud Rivera’s ability to participate in next Tuesday’s All-Star Game in Phoenix.
Both Girardi and Rivera don't seem too concerned about this so hopefully it's nothing major.
