NOTES: The forecast calls for cold temperatures in the 30's and a 20% chance of rain. ... Melky is sitting because of his 0-for-7 against Matsuzaka, Damon also has very good numbers against him .385 (5-13), with HR and 4 RBI. ... Ed Price reports that Jorge Posada thinks he will be able to catch on Wednesday, though I don't think anyone misses him behind the plate since Molina has been so good. ... Peter Abraham is reporting that Derek Jeter fielded nearly 50 grounders, tonight before the game and also did nine 50-yard sprints. Jeter said he felt no discomfort in his quad and should be able to go either Tuesday or Wednesday.

  1. The way he's swinging the bat I wish he was starting.

  2. Finally a stolen base.... and as I type this A-Rod kills the rally, damn it Alex.

  3. The umpire is squeezing Hughes... these umps have been terrible all year. Not only for the Yanks, but everyone.

  4. The is squeezing him and now he's lost the plate. He better be careful with Manny.

  5. Way too many deep counts. He won't make it past the 4th like this.

  6. With the way the Yanks are hitting those 2 runs might be enough for a win. 27 pitches already for Hughes.. NOT GOOD.

  7. Hughes reminds me of Mike Mussina, he's trying to be too perfect.

  8. Wow, Hughes has nothing tonight. He better fix himself quick or this will be 4 or 5 nothing very soon.

  9. Matsuzaka has nothing and this awful offense keeps letting him off the hook. It's been two weeks and I'm already sick of this team.

  10. So then stop watching.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Nah, I'm just frustrated.

  12. If Hughes wasn't afraid of the strike zone, he'd be a heck of a pitcher. His stuff is there, he just has to learn how to use it.

  13. I agree completely Greg, he looks bat shy.

  14. After watching Bichholz dominate the Yankees the other day this is even more depressing.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Yea, that's what I meant, stupid keyboard.

    ReplyDelete
  16. If they can do something here we might have a ball game.

    ReplyDelete
  17. at least they cut the lead in half... the bullpen has to hold them at 7.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Yea that was big, the last thing the Yanks needed was to allow a run or two that inning.

    ReplyDelete
  19. A-Rod is in full choke mode. God I hate that son of a bitch.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Hahahaha, tell us how you really feel.

  21. Giambi or Cano kills every rally. It's so frustrating watching these bums hit.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Since that first inning Ohlendorf has done a pretty good job. I'm surprised Girardi left him out there for a 3rd inning but hey, it worked.

    ReplyDelete
  23. He'd have done even better if he didn't allow all those inherited runners to score in the 3rd.

    ReplyDelete
  24. They just can't get hit with runners in scoring position. It's really getting pathetic.

    ReplyDelete
  25. As long as Giambi is facing Timlin he's fine, if he faces anyone else he's worthless.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Who's the backup catcher today, Ensberg?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yea, I wonder if they're gonna put Posada back there. I thought he couldn't throw.

    And Damon ruins the rally.

    ReplyDelete
  28. with the way Damon is swinging the bat, why not bunt there?

    ReplyDelete
  29. I agree, they should have bunted.

And why is Posada catching if he can't throw the ball?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Ugly game, I'm going to bed.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I just had to walk around my block for a while.. I hate losing to Boston.

    Good night Greg.

    Good night everyone.

Maybe they can beat the Rays tomorrow.
