Rangers vs. Joba
Joba has never faced the Rangers.
Stick around and discuss the game
as it happens in the comments section.
Derek gets the day off? Maybe this will help him snap out of hus funk
ReplyDelete3 lefties in a row at the top?
ReplyDeleteThat's almost an entire LH lineup out there today.
ReplyDeleteI don't really get why Jeter is getting a day off, and this really makes it easy for the Rangers to use a lefty out of the pen. Hopefully the Yankees can score a bunch of runs early and make this an easy one, though I don't know how possible that is.
ReplyDeleteThe bottom of the 1st just gave me a headache.
ReplyDeleteGOD FUCKING DAMMIT!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletePhantom Tag... Nice sell by A-Rod.
ReplyDeleteSo far Betemit has cost them a run on defense, and struck out with a runner on 2nd.
ReplyDeleteThere's strike out number 2 for Betemit. He's such a waste. Why the hell did Girardi sit Jeter tonight? WHY?!?!?
ReplyDeleteThis team really sucks.
ReplyDeleteNice job by Robertson. He looks like he has pretty good stuff. 91-94 MPH fastball, and a good curve.
ReplyDeleteYea Gus, and he also have very good command of his pitches. He was putting his fastball wherever he wanted.
ReplyDeleteThere we go Wilson!
ReplyDeleteNow I don't have to hate you.
Betemit came through with a big hit? NICE!
ReplyDeleteAnd as soon as I bring up how good his command is, he losses it.
ReplyDeleteMichael Kay is right, Robertson shouldn't be out there for a second inning, especially in this spot.
ReplyDeleteGirardi is a moron. It will be 3-2 before you know it.
Anon,
ReplyDeleteI agree with you and Kay as well.
Robertson did a hell of a job. He deserves a ton of credit right there. It turned out well, but still a very risky move by Girardi there.
ReplyDeleteHow the hell do you not bunt Melky? What can you be thinking? The guy doesn't have a hit in like 300 years.
ReplyDeleteAnd the even bigger question is why is Melky still even playing any more.
What was Girardi thinking? Why didn't he have Melky bunt? It makes no sense at all. Amazingly stupid.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the both of you. The bunt was the obvious play. I'm dumbfounded by this. I've known for a while that he's not a good manager, proven that time and time again, but this is a new level of stupid.
ReplyDeletewow we suck. it looks like the rays will finish ahead of us, along with the sox. cant even pickup a game the sox these past 2 days, unbelievable. maybe we need to get another bat or something, how long until matsui is back?
ReplyDelete10 days, maybe a little less for Matsui. But what happens if Girardi has Melky bunt? I CANNOT UNDERSTAND THIS AT ALL.
ReplyDeleteGirardi has cost this team at least 4 games this year. Hell, he's cost them two in the last three days, so maybe it's a lot higher than 4.
"How the hell do you not bunt Melky?" was me -
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely amazing how a person can't see that Melky MUST bunt in that situation. If he had been tearing the cover off the ball, if he was A-rod, etc, then I understand it. Heck, even if he sent up Jeter to pinch hit for him I might understand it. But consideing what an awful player Melky has turned out to be, you simply have no choice but to bunt him. If it's the 2nd inning, I understand it, but when the offense is struggling like mad, and a bunt would move the tying run into scoring position giving at LEAST Damon and Jeter both a chance to drive him in... it just doesn't make sense. I overheard a bit of the postgame show where he still stands by the move, it seems. Wow.
I thought the days of the Yankee manager flat out blowing a ball game were in the past, but Girardi has made some of the most boneheaded moves at times that I just can't believe it. Bizarre.
