  1. Giese looks really good today. Kinda shocked at how good actually. Hopefully the Yankees can score some runs and get the W.

  2. They've had two shots with two men on a failed twice. They haven't been able to get that big hit.

  3. back to back and a belly to belly!

  4. Well there's two big hits.

    Nice!

  5. I think that's the first time Arod n Giambi have gone back to back, I always wanted to see it and never thought it was possible. Thanks John.

Max Kellerman is gonna have a great time on monday after this performance by Giese... He's obsessed.

  6. Good HRs there by ARod and Giambi to get things going late in the game. Even with the HR by Tex in the bottom you can't say anything bad about Giese's performance; just what we needed. Now if we can just mix and match these last three innings it would be the win we desperately need. Just play .500 against the Angels and I'll take it.

  7. Nice hit and run........ Damon is the guy we want up there in that situation and he came through again. Jeter good bunt, no grounded into DP that time. We need these runs.

  8. Derek ,your right Max is obsessed with all the Yankee pitchers. He says Edwar Ramirez is as good as K-Rod.

  9. Yea he think Giese and Ramirez are gods.

Giese was great today, gave the Yankees ten times more than could be expected. And in front of his family too. Just a great job.

  10. terrible job by Abreu, get at least 1 run in. Arod, ok you did hit a homerun earlier, but a single would have been nice there. Arod guesses at the plate so much. With the homer, he guessed fastball and got it.

  11. Why can't this team get a sac fly? WHY!?!?

And A-Rod needs to stop holding the bat handle so tightly with runners on. It's becoming sad.

  12. If the bullpen blows this... well, I am just gonna snap. Get your ass in gear Veras.

  13. What a disgrace.... unbelievable. I hate this team.

    ReplyDelete
  14. The guy is hitting .200 and you have 2 strikes on him!! We needed those runs! Chances are the Angels are going to win this game.

  15. Ugly, I wonder how long Girardi is going to leave Veras out there. The leads already gone, why not just give them the lead too?

I had a feeling those two stranded runners would come back to haunt this tam.

  16. poor Giese, he still had a pretty low pitch count too.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Don't let him pitch to Texeira please..........

    ReplyDelete
  18. Nice pitch. Luckily he got out of it. I still would have taken him out.

  19. What are the chances we're actually able to score a run here in the last two innings. . . probably less than getting a guy in from third with one-out....

  20. very very small, unless someone unloads on one. Giambi?

    ReplyDelete
  21. 5 of the 6 runs in this game have been scored via solo home run

    ReplyDelete
  22. shields can be wild, so you never know

    ReplyDelete
  23. Cano can turn on that slurve and hook one

    ReplyDelete
  24. Nady's on at least

    ReplyDelete
  25. See, he wanted nothing to do with Nady.

    ReplyDelete
  26. goddamn it, that always happens to us. A ball ticketed to centerfield gets knocked down, and tis time even worse DP. Do we lead the MLB in DP'S? It seems like we will set a new record.

    ReplyDelete
  27. There goes the ballgame. Ramirez against the power hitters in the lineup? Really Joe?

    ReplyDelete
  28. By the way the Yankees were tied for 6th in GIDPs before this game started.

    ReplyDelete
  29. HEY MAX, K-ROD>>>>>>>> EDWAR. NO MORE 8TH INNING FOR EDWAR!! PLEASE!! THIS MAY BE OUR ONLY SHOT AT WINNING A GAME THIS SERIES. GAMES OVER

  30. unbelievable, im fuming.

    ReplyDelete
  31. ugly, this team fucking sucks. stick a fork in them. defense blows, offense never scores, pitching sucks, terrible luck all the time.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Is Girardi the only one who forgot the 8th inning nonsense Edwar pitched against these guys last series?!?!

    ReplyDelete
  33. combined: 1+ inning 8 RUNS! Millar was right about Ramirez.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Top 3 worst losses of the year. We needed this one SO BAD. Tomorrow- loss, Minnesota- prob lose 2 out of 3, with us blowing at least one game, shut out in one game. Why do I waste my time w/ this team? They just make me miseable.

    ReplyDelete
  35. can we just forfeit?

    ReplyDelete
  36. It's amazing how bad this bullpen has looked lately.

When you think about it, we really could use Farnsworth right about now.

    ReplyDelete
  37. why cant we vs the Angels in April or May. DIE SPEIER!

    ReplyDelete
  38. 7 behind TB, 8 in the loss. Wild Card is our only chance, a slime chance. 10% or so. we keep digging a bigger hole. now we almost have to sweep Boston both times we play them. this season has been hell.

    ReplyDelete
  39. what makes this lose even worse is that Giese pitched well. how often will our starters pitch 6 innings with 1 run, and against teh angles! other than Moose, we have no reliable starters, until Joba comes back, which we dont really know when and if he will as a starter. so in the offseason we need to sign at least one reliable starter- CC. Also we need to get rid of Kennedy, I am still outraged we wouldnt even put him in the Santana deal.

Wang, CC, Joba, Moose and Hughes/ Pettitte. We also need a proven bullpen arm. I dont know whats out there, but we need an 8th inning guy. I dont know why there not bringing up Melancon. Is 1 extra month in the minors going to change him that much. He may be great right now for us, BRING HIM UP! I dont know if I should watch the rest of this road trip, or the rest of this year.

  40. Joe G does know when to send in the wrong pitcher.

  41. I should have stopped over here for the in-game commentary. Great comments, people. Believe me, I shared your sentiments today as the Yanks bullpen just imploded. What an unmitigated disaster. I don't know if the comments from "anonymous" were from the same person, but the comment about Girardi failing to remember last week's Edwar meltdown in the 8th inning was spot-on--brilliant. Anonymous, don't be anonymous. You deserve to be known by a moniker more than the equivalent of stranger. It was very good stuff.
