Yanks May Open New Stadium Against Cubs

According to the AP, the opener at the New Yankee Stadium may be an exhibition against the Cubs.

The Cubs and Yankees are talking about playing an exhibition game or games the weekend before most teams open the regular season, on Monday, April 6.

Though the Cubs are the Yankees' first choice, the teams are still negotiating.

The home opener of the 2009 season is April 16th against the Indians.

  1. That would be cool but I think opening the stadium in april is better.

  3. Hopefully it won't be rained out like this season's opening game.
I'd love to see Carlos Zambrano on the mound.

  4. Finally! The news I had been waiting for! I would hate to have someone tell me how nice it was before I got a chance to go because of my opening day dilemma
