I know nobody wants to discuss steroids, but I thought this was pretty significant.
From Del Quentin Wilber:
Clemens lawyer isn't buying it:Scientific tests have linked Roger Clemens's DNA to blood in syringes that a personal trainer says he used to inject the former star pitcher with performance-enhancing drugs, according to two sources familiar with the investigation.
The DNA results, preliminary and subject to verification tests, could prove critical if prosecutors seek an indictment of Clemens on charges he lied about the use of steroids, according to the sources.
Yesterday, Rusty Hardin, Clemens's Houston-based defense attorney, said the DNA tests "won't matter at all.""It will still be evidence fabricated by McNamee," Hardin said. "I would be dumbfounded if any responsible person ever found this to be reliable or credible evidence in any way."
get ready to grab those ankles big boy...have fun in jail
ReplyDeleteIt may well hurt Clemens in the court of public opinion, but given the chain of custody issues, I don't think it would hurt Clemens in a court of law.
ReplyDeleteThat said, Clemens would have been far better served to do a mea culpa a year or so ago, and take the public relations hit than to continue to deny reality, especially under oath.
This is Pete Rose redux.
This won't prove anything. In the court of law, this gets dismissed in a heart beat.
ReplyDeleteI am a believer that Roger juiced and juiced BIG. But McNamee looks like a crushed groupie.
Hes not going to jail. He will get out of it just like everyone else. The ultimate punishment to him, Bonds, Sosa, Big Mac, Palmeiro, and everyone else is they should just never be eligible for the Hall...thats it
