Even though the game is on TV tonight the updates will be a little slow because of YES network and their stupid blackout rules. However, a couple of people with NESN will be posting updates in the comments section.
UPDATE 7:42 p.m.: The Yankees scored a run in the top of 2nd on an Angel Berroa single.
In the bottom half of the inning Mike Lowell tied up the game with a solo homer.
UPDATE 7:55 p.m.: Rough inning for Wang. Six runs, only one was earned, though. David Ortiz hit a 2-run homer in the inning. Wang is done: 1.2 IP, 6 H, 7 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 2 K.
7-1 Red Sox.
UPDATE 8:27 p.m.: The Yankees cut the Sox lead to three. Xavier Nady drove in two with a triple, and Jose Molina drove in another with a single.
7-4 Red Sox.
UPDATE 8:55 p.m.: Brett Tomko had a very nice outing tonight. He went 3.1 innings, allowing just two hits and striking out five. The Yankees still trail 7-4.
UPDATE 9:55 p.m.: The Sox just scored another run on a sac-fly.
8-4 Red Sox.
UPDATE 10:08 p.m.: That's the ballgame. Sox win 8-4.
Stick around and discuss the game
as it happens in the comments section.
RED SOX are going down, hopefully.
ReplyDeleteman, i'm pissed. i get to watch this game on the mlb network via NESN!
ReplyDeletebastards!
go yanks!
YES SUCKS! I got to watch Red Sox adds tonight when i'm watching the game. It just plane sucks.
ReplyDeletewhat a way to bring us down on a friday night! the only thing that can make it better is a yankee victory, over those boston bastards!
ReplyDeleteand that ball was foul!
ReplyDeleteYa, a win would be nice.
ReplyDeleteI dont have cable or the MLB package, but if you do and get the online access with your subscription I wonder if you could watch it online by accessing the MLB TV website through a proxy server that is outside the NYC area. Or do they track your account by zipcode? in which case of course you should get a billing address outside NYC.
ReplyDeleteYou should get it on the computer Will.
ReplyDeleteOK, since I don't have NESN, can those of you that do please post updates?
ReplyDeletei think they do it by zip code, but i'm not really sure.
ReplyDeleteI think I throw fatser than Wakefield.
ReplyDeleteTheres two men on with one out in the top of the second.
ReplyDelete1-0 yankees on a Berroa single.
ReplyDeleteNice.
ReplyDeletei wish i could be out there playing yankees baseball
ReplyDeleteThats my dream too.
ReplyDeleteEnd of the top half as Gardner strikes out.
That was my dream too, didn't work out so well.
ReplyDeletemike lowell is a bastard!
ReplyDeletetied at 1
how come it didnt' work out greg?
I still have s shot, i'm only 13 years old. I throw pretty fast for my age.
ReplyDeleteI grew up in NYC, and my stupid high school didn't have a team. We only had a softball team.
ReplyDeletedamn, i know you was madd. liam, i wish you all the best. i wanted to play hs baseball down here in maryland, but my school was racist forreal. and now i'm in a comm. college. hopefully if i transfer to a 4-yr university i hope i can play ball and have someone look at me. i am good
ReplyDeleteGardner got robbed of an at bat last half inning. The pitch was way outside he actually started aruging with the ump after the at bat.
ReplyDeleteThat must of sucked for you. I'm trying out for my middle school team in 2 weeks.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I went to see how fast I throw. I can throw around 83.
that's pretty darn fast. hope you make the team man!
ReplyDeleteYeah good luck Liam.
ReplyDeleteUPDATES PLEASE
3-1 red sox
ReplyDeleteIt's 2-1 redsox bases losaded 1 out in the bottom of the second.
ReplyDeleteLike I said a few days ago i'm a slow typer.
ReplyDeleteit's 5-1 now
ReplyDeletedamn red sox!
5-1 redsox. FUCK
ReplyDeleteI'm pitching, i just need a Yankee uniform.
ReplyDeleteHow'd they score the runs?
ReplyDelete7-1 on ortiz homer
ReplyDelete7-1 Ortiz 2 run homer
ReplyDeleteerrors on our part. now it's 7-1 sox, ortiz hit a 2-run homer
ReplyDeletepitching change wang is gone
ReplyDeleteGeeeez... rough inning.
ReplyDeleteA single Greg for when it was 5-1. I don't know who hit the single.
ReplyDeleteI think everyone will have a bad start this spring. So maybe I shouldn't pitch.
ReplyDeleteYES have obligations to the Nets. They have to air the net games @ 9
ReplyDeleteThat's fine, but they could have not blacked out the MLB Network from airing the game.
ReplyDeletesee, it's been a while since i've lived in nyc, so i thought that the YES network was cool. after hearing all these things tonight, it makes me rethink that
ReplyDeletegive that little fish, give me that fish. Thats whats happening now.
ReplyDeleteOverall YES is very good, but when it comes to blackout rules it sucks.
ReplyDeleteRansom with a triple
ReplyDeletei feel u greg
ReplyDeleteransom had a homer, that looked like a homer to me. but hey, a triple is better than nothing!
Miranda hit by pitch. Runners on the corners with no outs.
ReplyDeleteIt did look like a homer.
ReplyDeleteNady drives in 2
ReplyDeleteNady hits triple, 7-3 sox
ReplyDelete7-3 red sox
ReplyDeletewe got 2 off a base hit!
were comin' back!
It's only spring. I'll call the yankees if me , Greg, and Bennton can join the camp.
ReplyDeleteMolina rbi single
ReplyDeletedamn right liam!
ReplyDelete7-4 red sox
were comin' back!
I'm likeing this.
ReplyDeleteThe new pitcher for the redsox has a funny pitching stanse
ReplyDeleteit's kinda like sidearm the way he throws it lol
ReplyDeleteHe's going to ruin his arm. LOL
ReplyDeletelet him. that's less of him we'll have to see during the regular season
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed with Tomko, he uselly stinks but he has a shot on being the long relifer.
ReplyDeletemlb 2k9 vs. mlb 09: the show
ReplyDeletewhich one do ya'll think is better?
Nationals sign Ohlendorf
ReplyDeleteMLB 09!!!!
ReplyDeleteI haven't played 2K9, but The Show is awesome.
ReplyDeleteI don't realy like 2k sports that much.
ReplyDeletesee, i got a 360 for madden. but now i want a ps3 cause of the show. i've always loved the show. i had 2k8 last year, and that game sucked big time!
ReplyDeleteI heard this year's 2K9 was better than last year, but it's still not as good as The Show. I think this year's version of The Show is by far the best baseball game I've ever played.
ReplyDeleteI have ps3. I just got it. I finshed gta 4 so i'm waiting until I have enough money to get it. $50.25 I have
ReplyDeletefrom what i've seen, the show seems to be madd nice. i like that litte video they made for the new yankee stadium. the music is so theatrical lol!
ReplyDeleteThe game is still 7-4.
ReplyDeleteok, i see when NESN goes to a commercial break, they play some hot music. they just played twista's "overnight celebrity". why can't YES play hot music when they go to commercial breaks? it's always the same music!
ReplyDeleteThey don't want to spend money. lol
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of music does NESN play?
ReplyDeleteall types. they did rap, r&b, rock.
ReplyDeleteThat's cool, I think YES is too wrapped up in the whole Yankee-way stuff to do anything like that.
ReplyDeleteOh, by the way, there will be a small new stadium update after the game tonight. They put up more ads around the outfield.
ReplyDeleteYES! maybe it's me, but i like seeing newe pics of the stadium. i dont live in ny anymore to see the place, so the pics put up on here is as close to the new place i'll get, until this summer when i go back home!
ReplyDeletespeaking of stadiums, what's the status of the lone one across the street?
As of now it's just sitting there empty.
ReplyDeleteat least i'll still get to take pics of it this summer!
ReplyDeleteHow come wang got only 1 earned run?
ReplyDeleteWhere are the rest of the 6?
How many runs were scored on errors?
Igawa is running on the warning tracks out in the outfield. lol
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure anon, thanks to YES I can't see the game.
ReplyDeleteBut I can. Do you know what kind of pics they are Greg? Theres nothing going on with the game. Just the brodcasters making fun of Igawa running on the warning track in the out field.
ReplyDeleteThey're pictures of the news ads they put up yesterday, a blurry shot of a restaurant, and a picture of the A-Rod banner outside the stadium.
ReplyDeleteO god not A-Roid.
ReplyDeleteLOL
ReplyDeleteLOL
ReplyDeleteMan this game sucks now.
ReplyDeletelmfao. dont get me wrong, i know a-rod's all sorry and everything, but i'm happy to know that he won't be the first to hit a homer in the new digs. that's just me though
ReplyDeleteJeter has to hit the first homerun their. " The House that Jeter Built" sounds better for me.
ReplyDeleteIf Austin Jackson was going to be opening the stadium this year. Then he would hit the first homerun then.
ReplyDeleteI know he hasn't done much this spring, but Jackson is going to be great one day. I can't wait until they have Gardner and Jackson side by side in the outfield.
ReplyDeleteya
ReplyDeleteNESN sucks horrible broadcast where is YES when you need it!
ReplyDeleteLOL I didn't know Billy Traber signed with the red sox
ReplyDeleteI actually just realized the game is on MLB.com radio. So I'm listening to the Boston feed. Sweeny Murti is in the booth, it's not so bad.
ReplyDeleteYankees loose 8-4
ReplyDeleteTraber sucks.
damn, i'm madd we lost!
ReplyDeletesame here
ReplyDeleteTraber sucks.
100 comments for a spring training game. Awesome. Thanks guys.
ReplyDeleteNo prob
ReplyDeleteTraber sucks.
Don't forget we had to keep u posted.
ReplyDeleteHave a good night guys.
ReplyDeleteTraber sucks.
That's true, thanks Liam.
ReplyDeletei was actually watching the live blog over on nesn and it finished 8-6 with a double play ground out, the guy said bill traber let out a huge sigh of relief when we grounded into that double play to end it cause we definitely had a rally going .. eh whatever its spring and well ya gotta be happy that the pitches we did put in after the 3rd inning did a great job of holding em down
ReplyDeleteMLB.com says 8-4.
ReplyDeleteYeah, thats true, these games don't matter at all.
I can't believe no one talked about how many comments this post had.
ReplyDelete(we had 94 comments the other night)
Ya
