Even though the game is on TV tonight the updates will be a little slow because of YES network and their stupid blackout rules. However, a couple of people with NESN will be posting updates in the comments section.

UPDATE 7:42 p.m.: The Yankees scored a run in the top of 2nd on an Angel Berroa single.

In the bottom half of the inning Mike Lowell tied up the game with a solo homer.

UPDATE 7:55 p.m.: Rough inning for Wang. Six runs, only one was earned, though. David Ortiz hit a 2-run homer in the inning. Wang is done: 1.2 IP, 6 H, 7 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 2 K.

7-1 Red Sox.

UPDATE 8:27 p.m.: The Yankees cut the Sox lead to three. Xavier Nady drove in two with a triple, and Jose Molina drove in another with a single.

7-4 Red Sox.

UPDATE 8:55 p.m.: Brett Tomko had a very nice outing tonight. He went 3.1 innings, allowing just two hits and striking out five. The Yankees still trail 7-4.

UPDATE 9:55 p.m.: The Sox just scored another run on a sac-fly.

8-4 Red Sox.

UPDATE 10:08 p.m.: That's the ballgame. Sox win 8-4.

Stick around and discuss the game
as it happens in the comments section.

  4. what a way to bring us down on a friday night! the only thing that can make it better is a yankee victory, over those boston bastards!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Ya, a win would be nice.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I dont have cable or the MLB package, but if you do and get the online access with your subscription I wonder if you could watch it online by accessing the MLB TV website through a proxy server that is outside the NYC area. Or do they track your account by zipcode? in which case of course you should get a billing address outside NYC.

    ReplyDelete
  7. You should get it on the computer Will.

    ReplyDelete
  8. OK, since I don't have NESN, can those of you that do please post updates?

    ReplyDelete
  9. i think they do it by zip code, but i'm not really sure.

  30. pitching change wang is gone

    ReplyDelete
  31. A single Greg for when it was 5-1. I don't know who hit the single.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I think everyone will have a bad start this spring. So maybe I shouldn't pitch.

    ReplyDelete
  33. YES have obligations to the Nets. They have to air the net games @ 9

    ReplyDelete
  34. That's fine, but they could have not blacked out the MLB Network from airing the game.

    ReplyDelete
  35. see, it's been a while since i've lived in nyc, so i thought that the YES network was cool. after hearing all these things tonight, it makes me rethink that

    ReplyDelete
  36. give that little fish, give me that fish. Thats whats happening now.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Overall YES is very good, but when it comes to blackout rules it sucks.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Ransom with a triple

    ReplyDelete
  39. i feel u greg
ransom had a homer, that looked like a homer to me. but hey, a triple is better than nothing!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Miranda hit by pitch. Runners on the corners with no outs.

    ReplyDelete
  41. It did look like a homer.

  48. The new pitcher for the redsox has a funny pitching stanse

    ReplyDelete
  49. it's kinda like sidearm the way he throws it lol

    ReplyDelete
  50. He's going to ruin his arm. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  51. let him. that's less of him we'll have to see during the regular season

    ReplyDelete
  52. I'm impressed with Tomko, he uselly stinks but he has a shot on being the long relifer.

    ReplyDelete
  53. mlb 2k9 vs. mlb 09: the show

which one do ya'll think is better?

    ReplyDelete
  54. Nationals sign Ohlendorf

    ReplyDelete
  55. I haven't played 2K9, but The Show is awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I don't realy like 2k sports that much.

    ReplyDelete
  57. see, i got a 360 for madden. but now i want a ps3 cause of the show. i've always loved the show. i had 2k8 last year, and that game sucked big time!

    ReplyDelete
  58. I heard this year's 2K9 was better than last year, but it's still not as good as The Show. I think this year's version of The Show is by far the best baseball game I've ever played.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I have ps3. I just got it. I finshed gta 4 so i'm waiting until I have enough money to get it. $50.25 I have

    ReplyDelete
  60. from what i've seen, the show seems to be madd nice. i like that litte video they made for the new yankee stadium. the music is so theatrical lol!

    ReplyDelete
  61. The game is still 7-4.

    ReplyDelete
  62. ok, i see when NESN goes to a commercial break, they play some hot music. they just played twista's "overnight celebrity". why can't YES play hot music when they go to commercial breaks? it's always the same music!

    ReplyDelete
  63. They don't want to spend money. lol

    ReplyDelete
  64. What kind of music does NESN play?

    ReplyDelete
  65. all types. they did rap, r&b, rock.

    ReplyDelete
  66. That's cool, I think YES is too wrapped up in the whole Yankee-way stuff to do anything like that.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Oh, by the way, there will be a small new stadium update after the game tonight. They put up more ads around the outfield.

    ReplyDelete
  68. YES! maybe it's me, but i like seeing newe pics of the stadium. i dont live in ny anymore to see the place, so the pics put up on here is as close to the new place i'll get, until this summer when i go back home!

speaking of stadiums, what's the status of the lone one across the street?

    ReplyDelete
  69. As of now it's just sitting there empty.

    ReplyDelete
  70. at least i'll still get to take pics of it this summer!

    ReplyDelete
  71. How come wang got only 1 earned run?
Where are the rest of the 6?
How many runs were scored on errors?

    ReplyDelete
  72. Igawa is running on the warning tracks out in the outfield. lol

    ReplyDelete
  73. I'm not sure anon, thanks to YES I can't see the game.

    ReplyDelete
  74. But I can. Do you know what kind of pics they are Greg? Theres nothing going on with the game. Just the brodcasters making fun of Igawa running on the warning track in the out field.

    ReplyDelete
  75. They're pictures of the news ads they put up yesterday, a blurry shot of a restaurant, and a picture of the A-Rod banner outside the stadium.

    ReplyDelete
  76. O god not A-Roid.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Man this game sucks now.

    ReplyDelete
  78. lmfao. dont get me wrong, i know a-rod's all sorry and everything, but i'm happy to know that he won't be the first to hit a homer in the new digs. that's just me though

    ReplyDelete
  79. Jeter has to hit the first homerun their. " The House that Jeter Built" sounds better for me.

    ReplyDelete
  80. If Austin Jackson was going to be opening the stadium this year. Then he would hit the first homerun then.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I know he hasn't done much this spring, but Jackson is going to be great one day. I can't wait until they have Gardner and Jackson side by side in the outfield.

    ReplyDelete
  82. NESN sucks horrible broadcast where is YES when you need it!

    ReplyDelete
  83. LOL I didn't know Billy Traber signed with the red sox

    ReplyDelete
  84. I actually just realized the game is on MLB.com radio. So I'm listening to the Boston feed. Sweeny Murti is in the booth, it's not so bad.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Yankees loose 8-4
    Traber sucks.

    ReplyDelete
  86. same here
    Traber sucks.

    ReplyDelete
  87. 100 comments for a spring training game. Awesome. Thanks guys.

    ReplyDelete
  88. No prob
    Traber sucks.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Don't forget we had to keep u posted.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Have a good night guys.
    Traber sucks.

    ReplyDelete
  91. i was actually watching the live blog over on nesn and it finished 8-6 with a double play ground out, the guy said bill traber let out a huge sigh of relief when we grounded into that double play to end it cause we definitely had a rally going .. eh whatever its spring and well ya gotta be happy that the pitches we did put in after the 3rd inning did a great job of holding em down

    ReplyDelete
  92. MLB.com says 8-4.

Yeah, thats true, these games don't matter at all.

    ReplyDelete
  93. I can't believe no one talked about how many comments this post had.

(we had 94 comments the other night)
