  8. I love the new Stadium but I have to say that it feels like a punch in the gut every time I see these pics.

It may have been old and a bit run down but it was still beautiful and I still don't think it really had to be torn down.

Some of the best memories of my life were in the Stadium and it does feel like we are losing an old friend.

  9. Wow, that's painful to see. I checked out the site that Greg linked to... how much do you think it would be for the 385 sign from the outfield fence?

  10. Hey Scott,

Probably somewhere over $20,000. The section of grass behind home plate with the interlocking NY is going for $50,000.

  11. I just got an e-mail from Steiner Sports Signs from the restrooms are going for $400 and they just say "Womens" or "Mens" no Yankee logo or anyhting that would identify it from the stadium.

I think most fans are going to lay low on the seats (and other items- the prices I've seen are way too high and people don't have the desposable income as in the past). As a collector, I'd rather spend $1500 for a seat from the original stadium than $1500 for 2 from the 76 design. I can't see the 76 design seats increasing in value they way the originals did and besides, they were never that comfortable in the first place.

I have a seat back that hangs over my fireplace. I paid $10 at the fan fest in 1996 with all the money going to the Yankee Foundation. Tht same seat back is now going for almost $300 on Steiner (I also have about 25 autographs on mine). So a seat from the 76 stadium is not a big deal for me.

Fleix Lopez (Yankee VP by marrying the Boss's daughter) was on radio with Sterling and finished by saying if there were any problems with the stadium, fans should contact the Yankees. Her's our chance, so let's keep those cards and letters coming in folks!

  12. Lower level looks like it has the same amount of people attending the demolition as in the new stadium for games
