A-Rod Could Be Back on Friday

According to Bryan Hoch, there is a chance Alex Rodriguez could return to the Yankees by Friday. After going 1-for-6 with a walk and a homer against Phillies minor leaguers yesterday, Joe Girardi feels that A-Rod could make his return Friday.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi said that it was possible Rodriguez could rejoin the club on Friday, when the Yankees open a three-game series against the Orioles in Baltimore.

"So much of it just depends on how he feels and when he believes he's ready to go," Girardi said. "I have not really put a date on it, because I want to see how he bounces back. It's up to him. When he feels that he's ready, we're probably going to take him back."

A-Rod has still not slid in on dirt, but Girardi doesn't think that Rodriguez would have to before returning because he has slid on a pad.

  2. Yea it makes the blow of losing Jorge a little less damaging, but I believe the loss of Posada will hurt more than the return of A-Rod will help.

  3. There's a lot wrong with this team. Arod coming back will be the beginning of the turn around. Once he's back in that 4 hole Tex will get his needed protection. Shortly after Arods return we need Wang to come around. Which is sounds like he is from all the reports. Once Wang is back the rotation will be set. Then with the Return of Nady we'll have a back loaded OF again which will bump someone to the bench making it a little stronger.

    Oaks are you from pinstridedglory.blogspot.com?

  4. Cartman, I don't think Teixeira was having trouble because of a lack protecting, I just think he's been trying to hard. Every time he swings he looks like he's trying to hit the ball out of the state. A-Rod will help him see a few more fastballs, but if Teixeira doesn't relax at the plate A-Rod being back still won't help him get out of his slump.

If Wang can come back that will be a huge boost for this team. Same thing goes for Bruney.

  5. Its really just a waiting game.
    1st Arod
    2nd Wang
    3rd Bruney
    4th Nady

If Wang returns to himself and Hughes is doing well, keep them in the Roto.

Use Joba in the 8th. Bruney in the 7th. As bad as the OF is the best set up would be Swish-Damon-Nady when he's back.

This is a team that wont need to make trades to get productive, this is a team that needs to be healthy to be productive.
