According to George King of the New York Post the Yankees expect Melky Cabrera back in the lineup tonight against Cleveland. Besides the fact that he's played well defensively and leads the team in hitting, it's also good to get him back so that they can give Nick Swisher and Johnny Damon a day or two off. Swisher hit .150 in May by going 12-for-80, although he has hit safely in five of his last six games. And Damon has a bruise and cut on his thigh from slamming into the wall in Texas.
I'm guessing that with a lefty on the mound tonight for the Indians Damon will sit.
I really hope this is the real Melky we're seeing. The clutch, good defensive, not trying to hit a homerun every at-bat Melky.
ReplyDeleteminus a couple of bad throws...
ReplyDeleteAs Swish would say, "the Milkman is coming". It'll be nice to see Melky back in the lineup tonight. I've got good vibes for Joba too.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're right Megin, I just posted something somewhat disturbing about Joba above. Check it out.
ReplyDeleteYankee's are getting young! Brett Gardner has the same on base percentage that Jacoby Ellsbury has. Gardner in a year or two will be the team's leadoff hitter and will steal 50 bases. Melky is playing like an allstar this year. I hope that bum Posada goes back on the DL let Cervelli play. Cervelli is much better defensive catcher.
ReplyDeleteThere is a reason why the yankees haven't won in 8 years the old guard yankees are slow and washed up.
Put Pettitte in the bullpen make the rotation Sabathia, Wang, Burnett, Chamberlain and Hughes.
You going have to live with young players mistakes too like the time when Melky dropped a ball because he was waving at the bleacher creatures.
THE NEW YANKEES ARE CREATING A YOUTH DYNASTY!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like Cervelli but putting Posada on the DL would just be stupid. Hes a much better hitter than Cervelli.
