News & Notes

- In 20 games vs. the Mariners Andy Pettitte is 9-11 with a 4.68 ERA. Last year he was 1-1 with 3.46 ERA.

- Jarrod Washburn has had a lot of success against the Yanks in his career. In 12 starts he's 5-5, but he has a 2.56 ERA. In six games in the Bronx he's 1-4 with a 2.82 ERA. As you can see he's pitched great, but just hasn't gotten any run support.

- The Yanks have won six in a row. Boston won today so they're three games out of first for the moment.

- Good job moving Robinson Cano out of the five hole by Girardi.

- Ramiro Pena was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to make room on the roster for Eric Hinske. According to Peter Abraham the Yanks will give Pena some time in center to increase his versatility.

  1. Yes, good move getting Cano out of the 5th hole. Of course, bad move putting someone in the 5th hole that is equally as horrible as Cano. Girardi is so consistent and dumb with his decisions that anyone could have called that move.

Optioning Pena to AAA is dumb as hell. Then, they start Ransom at 3rd. LOL. Ransom stinks. Why move a guy that is battign .353 with RISP to AAA for Ransom? Makes zero sense. Pena in CF. LOL! Wow, this organ. is really stupid. What does that say about Gardner, Melky and Ajax?

  2. I'd rather see Pena at 3rd base but what can you do. This Hinske move has me scratching my head still. We already have 4 outfielders now 5 and they want Pena to train for CF? We have Swisher for 1b and Of and Ransom and Pena for the other positions.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Dude, you're so dumb... They don't want Pena to be a permanent centerfielder. They just want him to be be a little more versitle so that he has more value to the team on the bench. He'll be back.

And who would you rather him in the five-hole? Swisher? Melky? Come on... Posada is the man you want there.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Oh, and just to be clear.. I'm talking to Anon, not tou you, Robert.

  5. I love how the Yankees have a lot of players go out and walk around the Great Hall before the games. Just saw on the pre-game that Joba, Aceves and Hughes were out there greeting people and taking pictures, etc.

I know they do it just because they want people in the stadium early and spending money in the bars, restaurants, etc.... But it's still cool.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Yea, JC that's pretty cool of them to do. Never heard of that before. At least they're trying. On July 4th they're giving all fans at the Stadium free ice cream.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Pena makes that play.

    ReplyDelete
  8. There it gooooooooees!

    Damon homers, Yanks lead 1-0.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I've never seen anyone give up leads as quick as Pettitte does.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Tex should have made that play cleanly, then the run doesn't score, but then again Pettitte did put himself in the jam to begin with.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Andy looks strong tonight. A shame the Yankees offense is asleep.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Homerun!

Good call. It was close, but there was nothing definitive saying it was foul.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Fucking shit he did it again, Andy Blows the Lead Pettitte strikes again.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Dude, chill out...

He's given up two runs in six innings. He's pitching really well. It's not his fault he's getting no run support.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Good point JC... But I'll be honest, the timing sucks. Yanks score run, Pettitte gives up run, Yanks score run, Pettitte gives up another. So while Pettitte is pitching well it's still frustrating.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Damn is A-Rod on fire. There's a two-run lead for Pettitte.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I agree it's frustrating, but I personally can't get on a guy when he's pitching as well as Pettitte is. The first run was scored on a groundball, and the second one was just a solo homer. Most of this game he's been extremely sharp and working very quickly.

And I think it's safe to say that the real A-Rod is back.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I agree, Pettitte is pitching a very good game, his best so far at the new stadium.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yeah, Pettitte is pitching great. Maybe he takes what he's done from this start and carry it into his next start at the Stadium. I mean, he has to be doing something differently. Well then again, this Mariners team doesn't have so much power, so he might just be doing what he's supposed to do against a bad offense - shut 'em down.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Wow, looks like Girardi already demoted Bruney... This should make for an interesting post game show because Bruney tends to say what he thinks.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Another homer for Montero tonight. That make four in Double-A.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Aceves for the eigth. Hmm. Interesting choice.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Oh, it's because of the lefties on deck. Good point by Kay.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Well he was only in there to get 1 out. Now comes Coke.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Man, how good is Coke now?

    The guy's flat-out nasty.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Coke did a great job. A few insurance runs would be nice so they don't have to use Mo again.

    ReplyDelete
  27. JC - you're so dumb its not even funny. Where did I say that Pena was training to be a permanent CF? I didn't at all. You're so fuckign stupid its amazing.

Pena doesn't need to be wasting valuable time workign on the outfield. He should be lifting weights, playing the field and getting better at the INFIELD. But, this DUMB Yankee organziation is too worried about Jeter, Arod and Cano.

And, Pena workign on the OF shows exactly how happy the Yankee organization is with Gardner, Melky, and Swisher. Obviously, they want an improvement.

Furthermore, there is no valid explanation for keeping Ransom or Hinske for that matter in place of Pena. Pena has done a helluva lot better than both of them combined. And, we need to win now. Pena is an excellent late game addition for defensive purposes and is clutch unlike alot of people on this team. This team should be worried about winning now. Not taking your car to 711 to get it fixed because they have oil on the shelf.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Yeah. What would that be if he was used tonight, 3 straight games?

    ReplyDelete
  29. And, dont ever tell me who I want in the 5 hole. I, that's ME, will decide who I want. NOt you.

Posada is NOT the man that anyone wants except for opposing teams and pitchers. POSada sucks. He is a DP and SO machine who is not clutch. POSada is an old fuckign man that belongs at DH permanently.

    ReplyDelete
  30. He should be DHing more often, but give him some props. He had a career year just a couple years ago at the age of 35.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Make that 3 straight games Mo has pitched in. The Sandman is entering for the 9th.

    ReplyDelete
  32. So... Who you want in the five-hole then? Who?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Sleep with one eye open...keeping your pillow tight!

Oh yeah baby! Mariano is in, and our 7th straight win is 3 outs away.

    ReplyDelete
  34. See? Moron. I called in hours before it even happened. POSada is a DP machine, SO king and is NOT clutch at all. He's actually horrible at working the count, being smart and making the pitcher throw strikes.

    POSada=Cano in the 5th hole.

Go DP king! You da man POSada. The amazing great, know-it-all JC said "come on, you want Posada in the 5th hole". I said no, he hits into too many DP's.

No wonder you stick up for Cashman and all idiotic moves he makes. Birds of a feather flock together. Moron.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Anon, come on. You're a Yankee fan, right? Well act like one, not a sleezy Red Sox fan.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Hey look at the bright side, POSada didn't give up his usual 6 runs per game tonight! Get excited POSada lovers, there is always tomorrow!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Dude, you're such a moron. What's the point with all your nonsense? What do you gain?

And no, YB, there's no way this person is a Yankee fan.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Fuck you, Anon. You always find SOMETHING to complain about. We're 12 games over .500; shut the hell up.

    I'm done talking to you.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Act like one? You're a fuckign idiot too.

Was JC acting like a fuckcign idiot like you in the 3rd post of this thread? Or, was he acting like a real Yankee fan calling someone dumb because I bashed Pena "working on CF" and bashing POSada as the #5th hitter?

Who's the dumb one? You are. POSada in the 5th hole. Bwahhahahahah! Hope you like DP's!

    ReplyDelete
  40. BALLGAME OVER!! SCREW ANON! YANKEES WIN!! THAAAAAAAAA YANKEES WIN!!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Other anon, go fuck yourself.

    ReplyDelete
  42. That's right JC, make you sure change the subject jackass.

You have to change the subject for your poor logic. POSada sucks and he really sucks in the 5 hole. Sending down Pena to work on CF so they can keep Ransom and Hinske is beyond stupid. But, that's why you applaud it because you are stupid just like them.

12 games above .500. Wow, really impressive. They have a $200m dollar payroll you fuckign moron. They can't beat ANY good teams and barely beat bad teams, can't hit with RISP and they make dumb personnel decisions repeatedly. I can't wait for Marte to comeback. Yippppeeeeeee!

    ReplyDelete
  43. 45-32. Man, let me check Yankees.com and see where we were at this time last year. We defenitely weren't this good.

    ReplyDelete
  44. It is, in any other divsion we would be in first place (except the NL West).

    ReplyDelete
  45. Awesome they won, even with retardi and JC's stupidity of putting POSada in the 5th hole.

Of course, didn't make any ground up because Baltimore blows but hey its a win even with POSada catchign and batting in the 5ht hole.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Anon, go back to SOSH with your other Sox fans. You're not wanted here.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Wow. The Yanks were 44-40 last year at this time, barely over the .500 mark. Big difference there.

    ReplyDelete
  48. If my uncle sat down to pee then he would be a she. If, if, if , if , if , if , if.

If Cashman wasn't such a poor GM and made better decisions we should be 25 game over .500 and have the best record in the game.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Not a Red Sox fan. I told you this before. I am a real Yankee fan unlike you positive idiots. I just dont view everythign this organization does as awesome because they are the Yankees.

    ReplyDelete
  50. What do you want us to be, more negative? OK, so if A-Rod hits a walk-off home run we'll just sit there and say he got lucky? No.

We are Yankee fans, and we stick with them threw ups and downs, no matter what.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Wow, Yankee b-boy, you sure are smart aint ya?

You said the Yankees were 44-40 last year. That is 84 games.

They are 45-32 this year. That is 77 games.

Great comparison. But, you are smart and I am not, right? LOL

    After 77 games in 2008, they were 41-36 .532.

    After 77 games in 2009, they are 45-32 .584.

4 games difference or .052 winning percantage.

A 4 game difference for adding CC, Burnett and Tex. Frankly, that's not very good. 4 more wins cost them about $40+ million this year alone. That about sums of Brian Cashman's business and baseball expertise.

And, if you're going to post stats at least do it properly and dont compare apples to steaks.

    ReplyDelete
  52. They've won seven in a row, enjoy it, that's the only thing fans can do. All your bitching and moaning isn't going to change a thing. I don't see why you watch sports if you don't allow yourself to enjoy the wins.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Is this all you idiots do is make straw man arguments? I NEVER said anything about Arod tonight. You just make "scenarios" and conjecture becuase you hate the facts that I bring up.

And, it doesn't change that this team has NOT beaten good teams so far and hasn't done that great against bad teams either. And, they still have alot of problems. And, those problems come out vs. the better teams.

What is Cashman doing to fix those problems? NOthing, other than demoting a .353 hitter with RISP so they can keep Ransom and Hinske. And, you applaud this move? Idiot.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Bitching? What am I bitchign about idiot? Your butt boy JC is the one bitching because I laughed about another dumb personnel move that Brian Cashman made. JC is the one who started it LIBTARD.

Both of you simple can't stand to be wrong. You're full of the devil. Pride goeth before destruction and a haughty spirit before the fall.

Next time, dont bitch at me and call me names because of Cashman's stupid moves. dumbass.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Exactly, you're bitching about a move that for the moment is completely irrelevant.

Look, I don't like the move either, but it's not going to cost this team that many games, if any.

And spare me your mindless nonsense about religion, politics, or whatever other pointless topic you want to throw into this BASEBALL discussion.

And once again, you're an idiot.

    ReplyDelete
  56. "You're full of the devil. Pride goeth before destruction and a haughty spirit before the fall."

    LOL!

    Oh, boy...

    ReplyDelete
  57. I meant up to date asshole, not the number of games played. Jeez.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Don't worry YB, the rest of us realized that.

    ReplyDelete
