According to Peter Abraham, Jerry Hairston Jr. "felt a pop in his left wrist" as he took a practice swing today in the 7th. He's headed for an MRI tomorrow. Here's more from Pete:
Hairston said he felt a sharp pain. He has been been having wrist issues on and off since diving for a ball while playing for Cincinnati earlier this season. He disclosed that he had an MRI about 10 days ago and then received a cortisone shot to try and calm some inflammation. This could potentially be a season ender, which would open up a spot on the postseason roster, probably for Ramiro Pena. We'll know more tomorrow. It also seems like Girardi wants Guzman on the playoff roster, so this makes that easier too.
“I’m just hoping it’s some scar tissue breaking up,” he said.
Thats a shame. He's so pumped to go to the postseason and he might have to watch with a busted wrist. That is really a shame.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to bed. Night.
ReplyDeleteNight Liam.
ReplyDeleteNight dickhead. He really needs a life.
ReplyDeleteAnon, what's it like having no friends? Does life just seem to drag on to the point where you just want to end things? I certainly hope so.
ReplyDeleteCat got your tongue? Did I hit a nerve?
ReplyDeleteROFL, I think you made him cry Greg.
ReplyDeleteDicks.
ReplyDeleteWow, you're creative.
ReplyDeleteAbout time u left.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Pena on the postseason roster would be terrible. He almost as versatile as JH in the infield, and the Yanks are pretty deep in outfielders. Obviously we would miss JH's bat, but with this lineup hopefully they won't miss it too much.
ReplyDeleteI agree, I don't think it's a bad thing either. Pena or Hairston would mostly be used as a defensive replacement and Pena's better in the infield.
ReplyDeleteTo tell you the truth I like Pena more then Hairston Jr.
ReplyDeleteI also like the thought of having Guzman and Gardner coming off the bench in late and tight games.
I like Hairston. He's versitile in the regular season and could have been useful in the post season.
ReplyDeleteOf course, i would rather use Pena but he's still not quite as versatile as Hairston.
