Hairston Happy About His First Trip to the Playoffs

From Daivd Waldstein:
According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Hairston is one of 14 active players who have played at least 1,000 games and never made it to the postseason.

“Get me off that list,” Hairston said with a smile on Wednesday. “That’s not a list you want to be on.”

With 1,026 games, Hairston is 11th on the list, well behind the top three of Randy Winn with 1,599 games, Mike Sweeney (1,396) and Michael Young (1,349). If the Tigers outlast the Twins and go to the postseason, Aubrey Huff, with 1,319 games, will also come off the list.

“It’s been a long wait,” Hairston said.

Even if Hairston is not put on the roster, his experience this week has already been a dream come true. In March, when he was preparing for the World Baseball Classic, Hairston woke up one morning at his Arizona home after a dramatic dream.

“I hate to sound corny, but I dreamt we were popping Champagne,” he said. “Only, I thought it would be with the Reds.”

...

“It’s really weird,” he said. “I’ve never had a dream like that before in all these years. But it was so clear.”
Hairston was a nice pickup for the Yanks this year, and it's great to see his dream come true. Now the only question is will he make the postseason roster. Do you think he deserves a spot?

  4. Hey, did you guys know that RotoInfo is stealing your content verbatim?

    http://mlbblog.rotoinfo.com/2009/10/02/hairston-happy-about-his-first-trip-to-the-playoffs/

They're doing it to my blog too (www.ffgeekblog.com). I'm pissed and just trying to let other blog owners know about it.

  5. Thanks for the heads up. Is there any credit given at all?

  6. None. Check out the link - it even says it's "by RotoInfo." They do that to my posts too. I've been in touch with them and they're scumbags, they basically told me to screw off.

I've notified their advertisers as well as their web host, and I'm hoping other bloggers they're stealing from will do the same.

  7. They don't give you any credit whatsoever Greg. I should have told you since I noticed it back in the beginning of August when they pilfered an article I wrote on here.
