A league source told ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney that the Angels and Matsui were closing in on a one-year deal for about $6.5 million.This might force the Yankees hand a bit with Damon, which isn't good. Hopefully they don't end up doing something stupid like giving him more than two years.
