Michael Silverman is reporting that free agent short stop Marco Scutaro and the Boston Red Sox have agreed to terms on a two-year deal with a mutual option for the third year. The deal is pending a physical and is expected to be announced tomorrow.
Scutaro is coming off his best season in the big leagues. In 2009 he hit 282/.379/.409 with 12 home runs and 60 RBI, both career highs. The move make sense for Boston, as it fills the void they had at short stop.
