The Yankees have intensified their pursuit of Kuroda, according to major-league sources, and the Red Sox also are in the mix along with the Rangers, Indians and Tigers.Ignoring his ugly 6-12 W-L record, Kuroda is having another good season. In 127 innings pitched, the left-hander has allowed 45 earned runs on 122 hits, walked 33 and struck out 97 while putting up a career best 3.19 ERA. As long as the price isn't too high, I think this would be a solid move for the Yanks.
Kuroda, who has a full no-trade clause, is leaving all of his options open, and will weigh each trade possibility on a case-by-case basis, a source said last weekend.
The Dodgers have yet to present him with a formal proposal to accept or reject. However, speculation persists that Kuroda will approve a trade to only certain clubs – and perhaps only the Yankees and Red Sox.
