NOTES:
- Pettitte threw a 36-pitch bullpen session today and felt fine. "I got through it, and I felt good doing it," he said.
- Wang has to bat, but has according to Peter Abraham, has been instructed not to swing.
- Damon, who is still battling the flu, will not play today.
- Mariano Rivera, Kyle Farnsworth and Sean Henn will pitch in a minor-leagie game today (hat tip to Ed Price).
I really wish we would get to see Ensberg get a few more starts at first..I don't mind the pinch hits but to be an everyday starter he needs more experience at first.
ReplyDeleteI agree that if he's going to play everyday, he needs to start. But I don't think that's Girardi's plan. I think he wants Giambi as the everyday first baseman, and he's going to have Ensberg and Duncan fight for time vs. lefties.
ReplyDeleteWell it is a proven fact that Giambi's offensive numbers are drastically higher when he starts at first.
ReplyDeleteExactly, which is another reason I think Girardi is set on playing him as often as possible.
