Oh, what I would give to be able to spend a day sitting in one of those brand new seats just watching the workers doing their jobs! Sitting there in the Bronx sunlight....
One thing I don't like with the new stadium is that you won't be able to walk completely around it once inside, just like the old one. I have been to many of the new MLB ballparks (i.e. Baltimore, San Francisco) and its nice to be able to walk completely around the ballpark once you are inside.
i think we will be able to pat. it looks like the bleacher area is connected to everything else, so you can walk around the whole thing. i dont know, just what i think. i could be wrong
The Stadium is looking good. The only problem i see (besides not being able to see around that sports bar in center) is how they out a wall up in front of Monument Park blocking the view of all the retired numbers. I undertand you need a wall there, but at least put plastic see through windowing like in the old Yankee Stadium, it just would look so much better
someone needs to blow up that fu-ugly lame center field restaurant, that will be the bane of this stadium.
one of the lovable characteristics of old yankee stadium was its massive sweeping bleachers. of course this whole thing is just a cheap ersatz ripoff. this stadium deserves astro turf. everything else is fake, why make the real grass feel awkward.
Wow, that could be bad. I would hope they could fix whatever problems there were but it's doubtful. If this stadium in unsafe they'd be pretty stupid to open it (but we all know they will anyway).

ReplyDeleteGreg:
ReplyDeleteHave you heard about the concrete?

Not good if true.
It would be cool if Molina hit the first homerun there.
ReplyDeletei dont know if the bleachers are connected, but it would be great if you could
ReplyDeleteGreg:
where do you get these pics?
Joe, I found these on picasaweb.
ReplyDeleteMike, I read that article on your blog, definitely bad news. Where did you find out about that?
Those shots look amazing. I can't believe THIS is the new stadium. It's actually happening.
ReplyDeleteIs the project on schedule? I read a few weeks back that we were way behind Citifiel! That personnel hadn't moved in yet! What's the story?

Greg;
ReplyDeleteA friend "familiar with the story" tipped me last week. There was a story on the Gothamist.com and that lead me to a NYT story and other places.
