Ian Kennedy Update

UPDATE 5:41 p.m.: According to Peter Abraham, Kennedy was examined by a specialist in NYC today, and he has a vasospasm. It can be treated with medication, and Kennedy will be evaluated again Monday.

He also said that according to his own Google search that it doesn't appear that A vasopasm is serious.
Kennedy had two outs in the fifth inning when he was removed because of numbness in one of his fingers. He was sent for tests in Rochester after the game and spent Tuesday in New York with a Yankees team doctor.
Results of the tests will be released some time today. I will post any info I heard about this here so check back later.

  2. That's exactly what I was thinking about Joe. I hope that's not the case. Cone also complained that his hand was always cold and clamy, which I don't think Kennedy had been dealing with.

  3. Hope he is fine, IPK is the future ace of the yankees.

  4. I just want him healthy and pitching well in AAA so we can package him in a deal to get a big bat, or something like that.

  5. Ian Kennedy will be Mike Mussina version 2. No doubt next year Kennedy will be in the starting rotation. The yanks need to fix Wang and let him have a good year. Then they need to trade Wang for an outfielder like Nate Mclouth or Nick Makakis.

The next year yankee rotation should look like:
    SP- Sabathia
    SP- Burnett
    SP- Chamberlain
    SP- Hughes
    SP- Kennedy

  6. Right-hander Ian Kennedy was evaluated Wednesday at New York Presbyterian Hospital and tests showed a spasm in his middle finger. He will be treated with medication and is to return to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, where the team doesn’t want him to throw until being reevaluated Monday in New York.
