Yanks still looking for a pitcher?

Today, MLB Trade Rumors posted this quote from Brian Cashman:
"I think over the years, this trade deadline is no longer even in existence... The waiver stuff is not going to prevent deals in August. Guys are going to get through because people are going to be afraid to claim and get stuck with money that they can't afford. And so the July 31 trade deadline is more of a fictitious one now, anyway."

They also said that Girardi said yesterday that he doesn't believe the Yanks are done dealing. So obviously they are going to still be very active. But who do you think could get passed waivers and end up in pinstripes? John Garland? Doug Davis? Bronson Arroyo? Aaron Harang? Any of them? None of them?

Let me know your thoughts below in the comments.

  1. Arroyo and Harang are making way too much money.

Jon Garland looks like the better option. He is a veteran with al experience. And he is a free agent after this year. You are not going to be stuck with his contract.

  2. Fair enough, I can't disagree with that.

  3. I'd rather see Arroyo or Garland. Don't wanna be stuck with an NL pitcher.

  4. Heyman also named Garland, Harang, Davis, and Arroyo as pitchers that would likely make it through waivers.
