Shelley Optioned to Make Room for Hairston

Yes folks, the savior is here! Jerry Hairston and his ferocious .703 OPS are here, and he's starting in left today. Everything will be OK guys.

To make room for the savior on the roster, Shelley Duncan has been optioned back down to Triple-A after recieving free dugout seats for last night debacle. Besides the Hinske move, has this team made on transaction that makes sense since the season began? I'm sure you are all as happy as I am that Cody Ransom somehow is keeping his roster spot.

Oh, before I forget, Cody Ransom is also in the lineup today and he's playing first.

  1. It makes little if any sense. With Ransom in the lineup, you can put this game in the loss column as well.

  2. This makes me sick. I can't believe how they continue to make such ridiculous roster moves. Why are they always so worried that some shitty player doesn't have options left, big deal! Wasn't the point of obtaining Hairston to take over for Ransom? I just cannot stand these stupid decisions being made anymore. If I were Shelley I'd be so pissed, he's played well enough to deserve a chance. Cashman is a total idiot.

  3. Yeah, my confidence in this game is pretty much shot by looking at the lineup. Here it is for those who haven't seen it yet:

    Jeter SS
    Swisher RF
    Teixeira DH
    Rodriguez 3B
    Posada C
    Cano 2B
    Cabrera CF
    Hairston LF
    Ransom 1B

  4. Is anyone else starting to think that Cody have naked pictures of Cash, Girardi and a sheep?

  7. Although I agree ransom should be gone. I like the lineup for todays game. It show's they aren't panicking after two poorly played games. I am sure girardi had a little tirade about fundamentals after last nights game. That being said.

They will need to make one or two waiver moves for starters depending on what the actual joba rules are.

    Imagine our September Bullpen.

    Mo
Hughes (if they don't return him to the rotation)
    Joba
    Coke
    Ace
    Scrubs

  8. I would of put Swisher at first and had Duncan play right.

Its funny the best utility player they had this season they sent Pena down to triple a for no reason.

We didn't need another quality pitcher the yanks need another marginal player who can just play a bunch of positions. Great job Cashman.

  9. It shows they're not panicking? To me it shows that Girardi doesn't understand the importance of this game.

Cody Ransom doesn't belong on a major league roster, forget about the starting lineup for the New York Yankees.

  10. I thought when they picked up Hairston they were smart enough to release ransom and keep Shelley Duncan to platoon...what a disappointment!! Please get rid of Mitre....he is just another lost waiting to happen.

  11. Why does Girardi have to try and prove that he can manage, all he has to do is let the players who were performing make him look good.

  12. This makes no sense. Bring up Jackson, see if he's ready to play outfield. Swish can play first if you want to give Tex a break. Just let ransom go.

  13. Amazing guys, but you know what I think of Cashman. None of this makes any sense, unless certain members of the Yankees "braintrust" are betting on some other team!!!

  15. Im gonna say i agree with 99.9% of everything said here taday. But not on the panicking deal. It is insane. I'll be honest with you im the kind that likes to be positive and dont like to bash the team when they are loosing only. But i think is time for the Yankee administration to pull their head out of their a$$. I dont have much to comment on because im still amazed at the type of tradings the yankees did this trading week. It is unbelievable that we didnt add a pitcher. I know some will disagree but why the F**k didnt we get a #5 pitcher. i know some have faith in mitre and all but after yesterdays game its unbelievable that we didnt add a pitcher.
