This off-season went pretty quickly, didn't it? I guess when you win, off-season's never seem to last as long. And now we're just days away from the Yankees taking the field as world champs for the first time in almost a decade. But how will they deal with it? Personally, I think they'll handle it pretty well.
I'm sitting here thinking about the season ahead, and I have to admit I'm very optimistic. This team is stacked. On paper, there really isn't an issue with this ball club. They have one of, if not the best, lineup in the game, they have one of the league's best starting rotation and bullpen, and they will probably have the best defensive team they've had in a pretty long time. When you read the SIH writers preseason predictions post tomorrow you will see that I'm not alone. My only real concern is that the team stays healthy, but there isn't a baseball fan out there that isn't concerned about their team's health.
Sure, the loss of players like Johnny Damon, Hideki Matsui and even Melky Cabrera is never good, but with the additions of Javy Vazquez, Curtis Granderson and Nick Johnson, I can't see the Yankees missing them too much.
But I'm wondering what you fans think. What are your concerns (if any) heading into this new season?
