(Updated) Feinsand: Yanks Up Their Offer For Jeter

(Updated: 5:30) Mark Feinsand is now reporting that the Yankees have increased their offer.
The Yankees have increased their offer to Derek Jeter. How much they increased it, however, remains to be seen.

A source with knowledge of the team’s thinking said the Bombers had finally moved from their initial three-year, $45 million offer, the first sign that the two sides could be moving toward a deal.
Jack Curry is also saying that while the Yankees and Jeter are making progress, the discussions aren't "in the zone" yet.

From Jayson Stark:
The New York Yankees informed Derek Jeter's agent, Casey Close, on Thursday that the team was willing to improve its original three-year, $45 million offer, according to a baseball official who was told of the exchange.
The new offer remains, or what the Yankees are "willing" to offer, remains unknown. Stark also reports that the talks have increased significantly since their face-to-face meeting on Tuesday in Tampa.

I have never cared about the money (even though $15 million is more than fair), I just hope they don't add any more years.
