The Yankees have reached agreement on a minor league contract with Buddy Carlyle with an invitation to the major league camp, The Post has learned.
Carlyle played in the majors for three organizations without much success before jumping to Japan last season. In 104 major league games, including 27 starts, Carlyle was 11-11 with a 5.61 ERA. He played from 2007-09 with the Atlanta Braves.
The 33-year-old spent 2010 with the Nippon Ham Fighters, and in seven games went 0-3 with a 4.88 ERA. He also spent the 2004 season in the Yankees minor league system.
