Update on Wang's Injury

Wang had an MRI after the game and according to Peter Abraham, he's headed to the DL with "a strain with bursitis. But everybody seems to think that he will be back within a month."

Back in 2005 Wang missed missed almost two months with right shoulder inflammation, but told reporters after the game that this pain was much less severe than the pain he felt back then.

It's a shame because Wang was finally starting to look decent. The Yankees will likely look to Triple-A for a replacement for the rotation. In I today's game thrementioned that I though Sergio Mitre would get a shot because he's been pretty good in for Scranton, Abraham also mentioned Mitre in the post linked above. Erik Boland also thinks Mitre will be the guy who gets the call.

I didn't see the game as I was in the car for a lot of it and only caught it on the radio.

Wang sounded like he was pitching well until just before he was taken out.

Hopefully he will come back healthy and this time the yanks will allow him to get ready in the minors before coming back up.

this is not good for the starting rotation at all. hopefully this guy they pull up from the minors won't be the next Ian Kennedy or Kei Igawa and will throw strikes.
