Charleston RiverDogs starting pitcher Zach McAllister has been promoted to the High Class-A Tampa Yankees, the New York Yankees announced Thursday. Outfielder Abraham Almonte has also been activated from the disabled list to keep the RiverDogs at 25 players.This year with Charleston McAllister is 6-3 with a 2.45 ERA. In 62.1 IP he's allowed 59 hits, and struck out 53 while only walking 8.
Almonte, the 18 year-old centerfielder who will be replacing McAllister, was hitting .280 with 4 HR, 25 RBI, 11 SB, and a .763 OPS, before going on the DL.
In other Minor League news, Peter Abraham reports that Brian Cashman told him today that RiverDogs' pitcher Dellin Betances was shut down because he has a "tired shoulder"
