Who should start in place of Wang?

Here's what Girardi said before yesterday's game:

"We're just going to continue to discuss it because our bullpen has been a strength for us the way it's been constructed lately. Do you upset that for one time through, two times, three times, how many times through? Or do you actually go down and possibly do something there. It will get clearer as time goes on."

It appears that the Yanks don't plan to rush to a decision, so I guess we can debate this one for a few days.

I'm going with Sergio Mitre, not because I think he's that great, but he's done nothing but throw strikes down in the minors plus I don't think the Yanks should mess with their bullpen right now. It's finally become a strength of this team.

The other options are Alfredo Aceves, Kei Igawa, yes that Kei Igawa, and maybe even a guy like Ivan Nova has a chance, although he was just moved up to Triple-A.

So I post the question to you - yes I am sort of copying the YES network poll from yesterday's game, so uhhh, sorry for that - who would you chose to start in place of the injured Chien-Ming Wang?

I would go with Sergio Mitre too. I'd like to know what's wrong with Wang and what the timetable is before deciding on anything else.

yeah i agree...mitre is doing pretty well.

honestly though if someone goes down in the pen it might not be a bad idea to bring in igawa to do mop up innings

Anyone that can throw strikes I'll take. I think our starting pitchers should be pounding that strike zone more and maybe a young kid going out there and attacking the zone will instill some more confidence in everyone else.

I would love to see Nova pitch. But he was just called up to AAA, so I'll go with Mitre.

Aceves would probably get us the best start, but I love him in the pen.

Why not give Z-Mac a look, he has better stats across the board with the Thunder than Nova, I'd like to see what the big guy can show. Nothing against Sergio but he's been around for what... 5 yrs ... and hasn't shown all that much.

Mitre? No way.

If Mitre, then Clemens has to be considered.
Per his Twitter page--Roger is ready too.

Rings baby, Rings!

Don't throw this season away on Mitre! Or Nova (no-go).

OR trade Hughes or Wang-combo for ROY HALLADAY!!!

Doc. Or Rock. That's it.

id go with mitre only because things seem to be finally falling into place in the bullpen... plus if mitre fails you can just go to ace as a long man
