ESPN fired Steve Phillips on Sunday, less than a week after a newspaper revealed that he had had an affair with a 22-year-old production assistant with the network.
“Steve Phillips is no longer working for ESPN,” the network said in a statement. “His ability to be an effective representative for ESPN has been significantly and irreparably damaged, and it became evident it was time to part ways.”
He was
originally suspended but as ESPN said above, he could no longer effectively represent the company so he's gone. Hopefully the MLB Network doesn't hire him.
