As Peter Abraham pointed out in the comments section over on River Ave. Blues, Pettitte is just 4-2, with a 4.14 ERA in potential clinchers with the Yanks and Astros, while his teams are just 6-4.
And as Steve Lombardi points out this morning Pettitte is 0-for-3 in game six's. In three game six performances Pettitte is 0-2, with a 7.07 ERA and his team is 0-3. If you're wondering if this worries me heading into game six, the answer to that is yes. Sure, Andy could certainly go out and pitch a gem tonight, and I hope he does, but he might be just as likely to pitch the Yankees into a game 7 too.
Now I know there are many of you who disagree, so please tell me why.
