Harlan Chamberlian in Critical Condition, Joba Leaves Team

From the Daily News:
More bad news came after the game, as Joba Chamberlain learned that his father was in critical condition in a Nebraska hospital after collapsing at home. A team official said Chamberlain would not join the team on the charter flight to Tampa, as he was likely headed home to tend to his father.
Also from the Daily News:

After the game, a source said, Chamberlain returned the call, only to learn of his father's collapse.

Sources said Chamberlain broke down in tears inside the clubhouse, as manager Joe Girardi consoled him.

Asked about the situation, Girardi told The News, "Personal stuff stays in there," pointing to the clubhouse.

It's times like these when baseball becomes irrelevant. The close relationship between Joba and his father is well documented, and if you watched "YESterdays" you know just how close they really are.

My prayers go out to Joba and his family, and hopefully his father can pull through this.

Baseball really is not relevant with something like this, so I dont mean to seem insensitive, but does this qualify for Joba to be placedon the bereavement list for a few days so we can bring somebody up for the time being, or does it have to be a death I dont remember for sure..

I would think this would qualify, but I'm not sure.
