Allow Myself to Introduce........Myself?
Hello readers, my name is Trevor. I'm 27 & I'm from New Jersey. I'd be lying if I said I was a fan of Jersey. I do live in a nice neighborhood but there's just nothing to do & believe it or not, I am not a huge fan of going into the City. I'm more of a landscape kind of guy as opposed to busy streets and really tall buildings. I am a huge New York Yankees fan though, ironic, huh? I just grew up one as I'm sure most of us did. It's not easy to just choose a team to like at random & have that passion towards them. You got to grow up in the environment to really appreciate it & that is something that I was fortunate to experience.
My earliest Yankee memory that I remember clearly was Jim Abbott's No-Hitter. I remember exactly where I was sitting as a little kid and all the trivial aspects that others probably have no interest in reading about.
I'm a huge prospect junkie. I can't get enough information on Yankees prospects whether they are on the cusp of helping out or are just starting out in the Dominican Summer League. I plan on offering my two cents on prospects up and down the system as well as the obvious issues that need to be addressed on the big league level.
I have appeared on the LoHud Blog as a "Pinch Hitter" for Chad Jennings. That was a pretty fun experience & with that, it made me reach out to try & find other writing opportunities. I love to write. I love to create. I love to entertain. You all may agree or disagree with my opinions on various matters but I don't plan on sugar coating anything. I plan to express my opinion to show the level of joy or resentment on topics, whether they are popular or not. I watch a lot of Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations & I learned to just say what's on your mind. That guy has a job I'd do (almost) anything for.
Well, that's all for now, I suppose. I'm not a fan of talking about myself, I'll let other people do that for me. Here's to another successful New York Yankees season!

Guess Who's Back...
The reason for that was I started a YouTube channel last winter, and it really grew this summer, so I had been focusing on that rather than blogging on Sliding Into Home. I have 146 subscribers, and while that's not a lot, for me its pretty great. My username is YankeesRunThisTown, and yes, I am advertising.
Anyway, I already told Greg I'm gonna try to post 2 times a week maybe, and in the playoffs make some previews and opinions like I did last year.
So, I'm looking forward to talking baseball with you guys again.
See ya soon,
YB

Blog Stuff: Internet Problems
What I will quickly say about last night's 11-4 win over the Indians is that Dustin Moseley pitched great and deserves to stay in the rotation, A-Rod is still producing without hitting 600, and Chan Ho Park shouldn't be on this team.
... Oh, and Marcus Thames played third and infielder Andy Marte pitched for Cleveland. So yea, it was another laugher for the Yanks.

Now The TYU Folks Don't Think I Should Be Blogging .... LOL
But check out the latest:
First, Moshe Mandel posted this on Twitter two days ago:
If you cant refrain from calling a player a "gutless bitch" in a recap, you probably shouldnt be blogging.Yes, you got that right, a blogger is telling another blogger whether they can blog or not. Funny stuff, huh?
Am I the only one that thinks suggestions like this are petty and reek of undeserved arrogance?
Well, sorry Moshe, but I'm not going anywhere. You guys run a great blog, no need to waste time trying to bash me.
The fact that other bloggers are making such a big deal of this and wasting their own blog space is sad and shows that some are taking themselves a little too seriously.
My main objective here isn't to sound professional, because I'm not a professional nor would I ever claim to be. I'm doing this for fun because I like to talk about the Yankees with other fans, in my way, not the way the blogger police see fit.
Today, Larry Koestler at Yankeeist have wrote a "Zen Blogging" post based on some of the arguments started based on my comment. He mentions my blog as well as the TYU post and tweet that followed. The article was fair, much more fair than Mandel's comments via Twitter, although he does claim I was doing it for attention, which as I mentioned above was not the case. Also, Ross from New Stadium Insiders made a comment in response to the Zen post that I wanted to share:
Around a year ago, I'd be completely on the side of Moshe and Larry. Now, I've realized that too many bloggers are trying to take the passion and fun out of being a fan.I think he hits the nail on the head here, more so in regards to Mandel. Bloggers have begun to forget why they do this in the first place; to talk about the team they love as a fan.

Babe Ruth Wins SIH's Yankees Legend Madness
surprising, but Babe Ruth has won the first annual Yankees Legend Madness tournament. He received 74% of the vote to beat out Derek Jeter in the finals. In the third place matchup, Lou Gehrig defeated Mickey Mantle with 67% of the vote.
Thank you all for voting and we'll be back next year with a different version of the tournament. Any suggestions?
