On this Thanksgiving Day, let's be thankful for our families, our good fortune and the greatest sports team ever. Let us be hopeful that the Yankees will stop airing the Captain's negotiations in public and will, instead, quickly sit down in a room with him and work it out. He is worth more to the Yankees than any other team and the Yankees are worth more to him than any other team. Casey Close was right, the negotiations are "baffling" - that they are being played out in public is what's baffling. The offer is not insulting and no one said it was. Shut up, sit down and get it done! Let's also get Mo's done before he gets antsy. Having Jete & Mo locked up will go a long way to convincing Pettitte that the Core 4 deserve one more Championship run in 2011. Finally, let's be thankful that Cliff Lee won't turn down a boatload of $$ to be a Yankee but please don't make that contract longer than 4-5 years - we don't want another Kevin Brown for the last 2 years of the contract.
From everyone here at Sliding Into Home, we wish
you all a very happy and healthy Thanksgiving!
